Only 90 miles up the road from Lexington or Louisville, visiting the northern tip of Bourbon Country is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. A region full of whiskey history, Northern Kentucky was once a major hub for the whiskey business and home to more than 65 whiskey companies in the mid-1800s. Fun fact: Northern Kentucky’s Covington area was the native stomping grounds to influential Covingtonian John G. Carlisle, who was responsible for the passage of the BiB Act in 1897 alongside his good friend E.H. Taylor.
