Maker’s Mark Tasting Event at Levee

Levee at the River House, located at 3015 River Road, is teaming up with Maker’s Mark to host a very special tasting event on Tuesday, September 26th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Jane Bowie from Maker’s Mark will lead guests in a bourbon flight tasting that includes Maker’s Mark, Maker’s 46, Maker’s Mark Cask Strength, and the Varanese Maker’s Mark Private Select, which has a hand-picked flavor profile using a combination of custom oak finishing staves. Guests will also enjoy an Old Fashioned made with the Varanese Private Select, as well as bourbon-inspired cuisine. Cox’s Smokers Outlet will also be on hand to offer a selection of premium cigars for sale. Levee’s expansive patio overlooking the Ohio River will be tented for this event, and it will be held rain or shine.

Tickets are $55 per person and will be available at the door or in advance by calling 502-897-5000. $5 of each ticket purchased will be donated to the Rebuild Texas Fund, which is working to aid communities affected by Hurricane Harvey by providing long-term recovery support in areas such as housing, childcare, and small business rebuilding.

The Varanese Maker’s Mark Private Select bourbon was aged in a barrel made with a combination of 2 Baked American Pure, 1 Seared French Cuvee, 1 Maker’s 46, 5 Roasted French Mocha, and 1 Toasted French Spice. The Varanese Private Select has a creamy mouthfeel with distinct undertones of mocha and a toasted spice finish. The only place to taste this matured, cask strength bourbon is at one of Chef John’s restaurants.
