Seelbach Recipe

Seelbach Cocktail

The Seelbach Cocktail is named for the hotel where it was created in 1918.

However, it disappeared during Prohibition when the hotel could not serve it. The recipe was lost and forgotten without a speakeasy until it was rediscovered in 1995. Served in a fluted glass adorned with fresh orange, the original recipe called for Louisville’s Old Forester Bourbon.

Seelbach Cocktail

1 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Triple Sec
7 Dashes Angostura Bitters*
7 Dashes Peychaud's Bitters*
5 oz Champagne

Build in the order given in a champagne flute. Garnish with an orange twist.
