Kentucky Derby Museum Welcomes Peerless Distillery Co.

Now in its 10th year, the Legends Series with Bourbon Masters celebrates Kentucky's most celebrated Bourbons. Each night in the series is hosted by Wall Street Journal Best-Selling Author, Fred Minnick. Minnick, the Museum’s own Bourbon Authority, is a Bourbon Curator and Tasting Expert.

The second night in the series, Peerless Distilling Co. – a five-generation owned distillery – will bring history, insight, and silkiness to the table on February 23rd. The Peerless Tasting offers guests a three Bourbon spread. Plus two Peerless Legends – Fourth Generation Owner, Corky Taylor, and Master Distiller, Caleb Kilburn – will lead you through their hand-picked selections.

The tasting will include:

Double Oak Rye – Nose: Roasted nuts, citrus zest, and sweet oak. Palate: Toasted sugar, bold oak, spicy cinnamon, sweet grasses, warm leather, and rich tobacco. Finish: Sweet oak.

Double Oak Bourbon – Nose: Sweet oak with orange zest, cedar, tobacco and herbs. Palate: Honey, cinnamon, and spicy oak. Finish: Sweet toasted oak and dry cocoa.

Rum Finished Bourbon – Nose: Toasted citrus, molasses, sweet cedar, salty air, and distant coffee house. Palate: Cinnamon, orange bitters, toasted sugar, spicy cedar, and fermented dark fruit. Finish: Sweet grasses, complex botanicals, and smoked honey.

Free parking is available in Churchill Downs Racetrack's "Red Lot", next to the Museum.
