The Miller House

Built from plans in a Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog in 1905 with sand for the blocks hauled up from the Ohio River, Elmer & Lizzer Miller built a home that would be called "A jewel of Old Owensboro". Restored after a tornado strike in 2007 by the Kirk family, The Miller House is the place to go in Owensboro for a fine southern meal and a favorite bourbon. Favorites include the warm pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, shrimp on grit toast and bourbon-glazed salmon. Diners have their pick from a wrap-around porch, two levels of dining or a basement bar with over 100 brands of whiskey.
